I like to think my love for western riding, design and fashion were the diving force behind the creation of KD Saddle Blankets. 

 

Rewind back a few years ago and you would have found me saddling up my 16.2 hand horse and jumping around a course, wearing nothing but neutrals. In 2016 I entered my first cutting show (on that same 16.2 hand horse) and fell in love with the sport. I played around at the local shows and working the flag that winter, soon realizing I was going to need some more horse power than I currently had! So, I traded the english horse and bought something more equipped to work cows.

 

In 2016, I also made my first trip to the NRCHA Snaffle Bit Futurity, as a spectator, where I found my love for saddle blankets. The colours, the patterns, the matching your shirts to your pad - this was something I could get behind. I, however, learned that this was soon to become an investment in order to have a wide selection. In the back of my head I always thought it would be so great to be able to offer these quality pads and patterns but at a more affordable price.

In the summer of 2019 I was presented by an opportunity I couldn't refuse. I was approached by a weaver after expressing some interest in custom pad design on a local site. Having a degree in marketing and a graphic design background the rest was history!

Now I am proud to be able to present to you KD Saddle Blankets, hand woven, designed by myself and budget friendly at only $185!
